i was so excited when i had a voicemail from laura asking us to do their wedding pictures. i met laura sophomore year of high school when i went with a team from my church to mexico. laura was with another group we worked with there. she was a bridesmaid in whitney and ben’s wedding last year (she met whitney on that same trip, and the two are now best friends.).
laura + matt go to school in chicago, so they wanted to do their engagement shoot there. luckily, nelson goes to school in chicago too. they were able to meet up last saturday for some pictures.
we are so blessed to have so many gorgeous brides. laura is no exception.

a cute moment.

love the colors.

there are sooo many fun walking pictures from this shoot. it’s hard not to post them all!

i love how this shot combines natural and manmade things.

i noticed that in these last three, matt is looking at laura. it’s obvious that they are very much in love and so happy to have each other.

thanks, laura + matt. we’re excited to work with you two throughout the next year!

becky and keith made the trip to alto pass, il, for their e•session last weekend. we were so excited to get to do a shoot here in the fall because it is just beautiful.
(if you watch both blogs, you might remember keith from pictures of his band two cent offering.)
the little trail by our house where the railroad used to be.

the scenic overlook.

becky loves red, so this row of bushes was perfect.

having some fun in the peach orchard.

they had some fun ideas throughout the shoot. this was one:

i love the seriousness of this picture.

at this point, a big dog kept following us and trying to get in every shot. this was not good as becky is a cat person. : )
one of my favorites of the day.

in the park.

thanks, becky and keith, for being such good sports even though it was freezing outside! we’re excited for your wedding next year.

“day after” sessions give everyone a break on the wedding day, and give the couple a chance to go wherever they want for more pictures.
dawn ‘n david wisely decided on a golf course. we met the newlyweds, red kicks and all, in perfect weather.

we grabbed this one after we had decided to quit once. good thing too.

the ring picture was dawn’s idea.

!

!!

there was so much color outside that day, when i was editing i realized i hadn’t done a single black and white. i thought this picture worked out perfectly for it.

perfect backlighting.

captured the moment.

a beautiful couple for a beautiful day! thank you guys so much for wanting the day after session. you guys are so easy to work with, and we loved all the shoots with you.

here comes the third bride from our big weekend.

calm and composed.

i told chelsea as we talked about the details of her day that i knew she would be a perfect bride. i was right.

chelsea with her girls.

dan and the guys.

married!

chelsea and dan planned an awesome getaway. the guests released balloons…

while dan wheeled chelsea…

to a horse-drawn carriage.

they enjoyed the ride and ended up at the park for pictures.

they had requested this park for their engagement session, too, so it was fun to see it in both summer and fall.

a dip with the ducks in the background looking on.

so many funny faces. i wonder what ty was saying at this moment…

the flower girl doesn’t seem so sure she wants to be this close to the kissing couple.

this reminds me of something out of an old western.

could this be sweeter?

the best man had some good moves. : )

chelsea and dan, we hope you’re enjoying married life and appreciate your patience as we waded through the pictures from this crazy-busy weekend.
