the day after: dawn + david

tyler November 14th, 2008

“day after” sessions give everyone a break on the wedding day, and give the couple a chance to go wherever they want for more pictures.

dawn ‘n david wisely decided on a golf course.  we met the newlyweds, red kicks and all, in perfect weather.

we grabbed this one after we had decided to quit once.  good thing too.

the ring picture was dawn’s idea.

!

!!

there was so much color outside that day, when i was editing i realized i hadn’t done a single black and white.  i thought this picture worked out perfectly for it.

perfect backlighting.

captured the moment.

a beautiful couple for a beautiful day!  thank you guys so much for wanting the day after session.  you guys are so easy to work with, and we loved all the shoots with you.

chelsea + dan

rachel November 10th, 2008

here comes the third bride from our big weekend.

calm and composed.

i told chelsea as we talked about the details of her day that i knew she would be a perfect bride.  i was right.

chelsea with her girls.

dan and the guys.

married!

chelsea and dan planned an awesome getaway.  the guests released balloons…

while dan wheeled chelsea…

to a horse-drawn carriage.

they enjoyed the ride and ended up at the park for pictures.

they had requested this park for their engagement session, too, so it was fun to see it in both summer and fall.

a dip with the ducks in the background looking on.

so many funny faces.  i wonder what ty was saying at this moment…

the flower girl doesn’t seem so sure she wants to be this close to the kissing couple.

this reminds me of something out of an old western.

could this be sweeter?

the best man had some good moves.  : )

chelsea and dan, we hope you’re enjoying married life and appreciate your patience as we waded through the pictures from this crazy-busy weekend.

i carry your heart: dawn + david

rachel November 3rd, 2008

the flowergirl is all smiles for the big day.  she kept saying “cheese!” and wanting her picture taken.

this is one of my favorite prep shots that i can remember.  there is so much going on in the picture, but the focus of it is clear.  not to mention that even while putting on mascara, dawn looks fantastic.

her dress was beautiful too.

and her shoes, and her flowers, and their rings.

you could spy where their ceremony was to take place from the reception hall.

here come some pictures of dawn and the ladies.

next we have david and his groomsmen.

the sun was so bright during the groomsmen pictures.  but luckily, most had their shades along.  i love how these 2 turned out.

this picture makes me laugh.  it looks like david is holding up dawn’s brother by his right ear.

dawn and her dad.

always a happy moment.

an impromptu picture right after the recessional.

this picture was dawn’s request very funny to see in action.

she and her mom love the wizard of oz, so dawn had her own ruby red slippers.

two sweet moments.

dawn’s cute flea market vases added character to the fallish decor.

the big events of the reception:  toasts, bouquet toss, and first dance.

and we’ll end with two of my favorite dancing pictures ever.

this was a beautiful fall wedding.  dawn has a great attention to detail, and we thoroughly enjoyed preserving it through pictures.

we met up with dawn and david the next day for some more relaxed pictures.  that post will be coming soon!

nicole + nathan

nelson October 29th, 2008

october 17th and 18th were a crazy couple of days for the exposure weddings team. three weddings in one weekend! but we made it through and will have plenty of fresh blog material coming soon…

friday was the beautiful wedding of nicole and nathan.

lacing up the dress…

the weekend’s first beautiful bride…

with bright blue eyes.

the ladies.

the weekend’s first handsome groom.

the men.

all of them looking studly.

a picture perfect bridal party.

face to face.

cheek to cheek.

hand in hand.

a ceremonial prayer.

red roses everywhere:

cascading down the cake,

and in the awesome centerpieces.

nicole + nathan’s first dance started nice and traditional

and then…

the deejay dropped a beat and they put on a show!

thanks so much for including us in your special day! the wedding was absolutely beautiful.

back in brown: lauri + kalman

tyler October 22nd, 2008

kalman started the day off right by sending a well-received letter & bouquet to lauri.

as she photographed the dress, rachel thought something looked familiar…

no wonder she liked the dress so much!

ring. ring.

you may remember their love for brown in their engagement shoot.  they carried on the theme to the wedding with some sharp brown tuxes.

1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 + kalman = 10

two of my great friends from high school were in the bridal party.  tommie is second from the left and his brother david is fourth.

who’s short, missing teeth, and can’t be trusted with rings?  no, not gollum… this guy - the ring bearer!

the girls struck some poses for us.

then the ceremony started.

“all this excitement is making me tired.”

finally.

and again.

and again.

and again.

12 seconds to party in the street.

lilies.

limo in the city..

they are a truly happy couple.

some shots on the getaway vehicle.

they sat on the back and were chauffeured away.  i was honestly worried they were going to topple off.

the chairs were draped in her bridesmaids’ colors.

they opted against the handful-in-face technique and instead employed the dainty one-finger technique.

they opened up the dance floor with a choreographed waltz…

and closed the evening with an unscripted sparkler run.

thank you guys so much for letting us take your pictures.  i am really sorry that it took so long to get this post up.  we aim to post within 2 weeks of the wedding, but you know we’re busy right now.  hopefully the supermassive post makes up for it.  talk to you soon.
